Someone intentionally rammed my car on Christmas Day

He was sitting in the right lane doing under the speed limit, so I gave him a dose of my brights. I shouldn’t have done it. It’s an epidemic on this road and my patience has run out.

I ended up passing him on the left, and at the next roundabout while I was stopped, he rammed his Pathfinder into my MR2. I was shocked, all I could do was stare at him while he and his fat wife yelled at me with the windows up.

There’s damage. It’s not too bad. It probably won’t get fixed. I went to the police, they didn’t really care. I could get insurance involved, it probably isn’t worth it.

What happened after they hit your car? You should’ve called 911 at that point. If they rammed your car and drove off, that’s a hit and run.

I got “bumped” by a guy years ago - kind of the opposite situation - he was cutting through traffic and had already weaved in front of me once when he got stuck in the other lane and I made it more difficult than I needed to to let him get back into my lane in front of me. Just some older guy and I couldn’t get the plate... Turn the other cheek... If they are comfortable bashing into you basically out of the blue then they likely have very unhappy lives.

This is why I generally let morons be morons...yes, it’s inconvenient but engaging with them is usually even more inconvenient.

And yes occasionally even I’m a moron.

Mind you...the number of c ity folk that don’t realise that a 20 yr old diesel ute not only doesn’t take off like a scalded cat but also comes to a near stop in the shift from first to second which causes them to  nearly kiss my arse and then think it’s my fault is amazing...

I’d think if you contacted your insurance company and told them its a hit and run and that you have his license plate (do you have that?) they will probably do the hard work of making his life shitty for you.

He took off, I got his plate, went to the police station, they best they cared to do was get his details so we could let insurance handle it.

I mean they can make his insurance pay and then he’ll probably have to pay a fortune to get insured in the future (if anyone will insure him...I don’t know how it works there though) , and quiet long-term revenge feels almost as good as immediate revenge.

Sad to hear the police in other countries are just as useless as they are in the States. Someone puts a bullet in my car? Cops laugh . Tenant in my house chokes out his girlfriend, leaving marks that could be seen from a mile away ? Cops arrive 40 minutes after the 911 call then take him to his mom’s house, not even a warning. Mind you, he was already on feckin probation for abusing that same woman .

Same adult tenant catfishes teenage girls and collects child porn? Guess they have better things to do. Other te nant steals my TV and deals drugs out of my property ? Cops side with the tenant.

I'm pretty sure reports of hit and runs go straight into the refuse bin. *sigh*

This is actually the best way to get back at morons...by inconveniencing them. Justice by micromanagement is the most frustrating justice of all...but glorious for the dispenser because it requires you to do almost nothing.

I’ve been waiting for someone to punch a hole in their front bumper with the hitch on the back of my truck. It too basically stops between 1st and 2nd, and no one is ever ready for it, it’s pretty hilarious.

Over two decades ago, an impatient bloke  pulled up really close behind my Lada Niva at uphill stop lights. Lights changed and I took off. Mid intersection I started to shifted up and was then punched from behind by Old Mate...but I already had 2nd and dropped the clutch and gassed up .

What I didn’t realise was that he’d impaled his Hyundai on the hitch, all the way into the Ni va’s bumper.

The Niva tore the face of that Hyundai quite roughly off...

Ha, I just had that happen with my 20 year old 100 or so HP Ford Ranger. Was just pulling away from the light, and I notice guy behind me in a newer truck coming up on me real fast in my rearview. He then waved his hands at me like WTF? It took me a moment to figure out what you described had occurred . The leisurely 1-2 shift of a slow truck which I am trying to nurse on or beyond a quarter million miles.

It’s possible the guy has insurance and it might get more expensive for him if your insurance does some digging and gets in contact with his.
